professionally qualified. We are registered with the Irish Landscape
Institute which is a member of EFLA (European Foundation for Landscape
Architecture) and IFLA (International Federation of Landscape
Architects). We are also members of the AA (Arboriculture Association)
and the RFS (Royal Forestry Association). In addition, the expertise
within the practice has been recognised and utilised through
participation in the legal / judicial process as expert witness in
legal cases concerning Landscape Architecture and related disciplines.
The practice was founded in 1991 by Terry Murray and has expanded to meet the needs of its clients over that time. The practice currently operates from the Seapoint Building in Clontarf, and employs a total staff of 15.
We offer a full service in landscape architecture from initial design concept to certification of completed works on site. Our aim is to create outstanding, innovative, environmentally responsible landscapes that give value to clients, enjoyment to the end user and satisfaction to us as professionals.
The practice has been involved in many large public open space projects, including public, residential and commercial contexts. We are proud to have an extensive list of constructed landscape projects which have enhanced the public realm of villages, towns and cities nationwide.

Design work is undertaken in the following areas: -

Murray & Associates have considerable experience in environmental and landscape planning.
We act as lead consultant in co-ordinating projects in sensitive landscapes such as windfarms, industrial developments, etc. We offer a full service including planning application, co-ordination and preparation of Environmental Impact Statements, specialist assessment for the relevant EIS sections and can advise on procurement of specialists for other sections.
We also provide specialist Landscape and Visual Assessment for EIS. Our approach is to work with the design team to ensure that the best fit is found between all of the aspects of a project and to ensure environmental responsible solutions. We have been involved in a large number of projects of national importance from motorways and rail infrastructure to powerlines and windfarms to industrial and residential schemes.
Specialist Landscape & Visual Assessment comprising biophysical and visual analysis, visual impact assessment and mitigation, including route selection studies for infrastructure;
Planning Applications for projects in sensitive landscapes, including alternative energy
Environmental Impact Assessment – co-ordination and preparation of Environmental Impact Statements for projects in sensitive lanscapes;
Wind Energy Projects: We have particular expertise in this area and the office uses specialist software to advise clients on optimum siting of turbines with regard to yield, layout and siting of windfarm or turbines in the landscape, as well as all of the requirements for planning and EIS including photomontage and shadow calculations
