Waterford Institute of Technology Cork Road Campus
Murray & Associates have been involved with Landscape Masterplanning at WIT Cork Road Campus since 1998. These years have seen an ambitious and successful expansion of the college in both academic and spatial terms to become one of Ireland’s leading third level institutions.
The commission has involved co-ordinated landscape masterplanning to create a campus that complements the life of the college and an appropriate setting for the Institute. We have worked closely with the Campus Architect, A&D Wejchert to achieve this. The masterplan has been implemented through individual projects over the years and is still a work in progress. Some of the more significant elements completed to date include the Scholar’s Walk (a Slí na Sláinte circuit around the college grounds), a sensory garden to the Nurse Education Building, a herb display at the Tourism & Leisure building and various seating and courtyard spaces.
